If you have a concern or would like to resolve a complaint:
~ First contact the Naturopathic Doctor, inform them of your concern and seek to resolve it through discussions with them. Most matters can be easily remedied through open communication. If that does not prove to be satisfactory:

Public Notifications
September 2013 - Notification of suspension of membership
Dr. Douglas Amell practices in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. On July 21, 2010, Dr. Amell was convicted of offences under the Income Tax Act related to tax evasion. The court sentenced Dr. Amell to a term of imprisonment for 16 months and in addition, he was ordered to pay a fine totalling $189,796.94. Dr. Amell appealed the conviction and sentence. On May 3, 2013, the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal.
On September 27, 2013, Dr. Amell signed a Voluntary Undertaking and Agreement with the Association. By the terms of the Voluntary Undertaking, Dr. Amell agreed that his license would stand suspended for three weeks from the date of his release from incarceration. Further and through those three weeks, Dr. Amell was prohibited from seeking registration with any other naturopathic regulatory body in Canada.
As of October 24, 2013 Dr. Amell's license has been reinstated without conditions.
